Overview
Review Summary |
The UpLift Zipped Cable Sleeve is a strong option among cable sleeves because its adjustability will make your workspace more flexible. A zipper is better than velcro options, as long as the zipper holds up well. It’s a solid option that only lacks thermal protection, certifications and long warranty. |

Positives | The sleeve doesn't require a special tool to close. You can buy multiple sleeves and zip them together to make an extra-large sleeve. |
Negatives | It provides no thermal protection. It's not ROHS or REACH certified, or halogen-free. The short 2-year warranty probably has to do with the zipper quality. |
Bottom Line
A cable sleeve that zips shut is something we haven’t seen before. We like it better than sleeves that velcro together where the number of cables in the sleeve has to be just right for the velcro to line up, but the zipping isn’t without error. If you have pressure on the sleeve (either from too many cables or less-flexible cables in awkward positions) it will be difficult to zip and possibly break. Let’s just say the zipper used is not the heavy duty kind you find on arctic weather gear.
One bonus is that you can buy multiple zipped sleeves and zip them together to make an extra-large sleeve. We still prefer a cable sleeve that naturally shrinks and pulls the cables in without any attachment, but this extra-large sleeve option is intriguing for the right application.
We are also big fans of this being a sleeve that doesn’t need a special tool to use because a special tool is just one more thing to keep around and make sure you don’t lose. These factors give the UpLift Zipped Cable Sleeve an edge because it should be very reusable, as long as the zipper holds up well.
The sleeve can hold 8-10 cables, depending on the size of the cable, which should be enough for light and medium workstation setups. If you don’t have enough cables in the sleeve to keep it taut the sleeve may move on you over time as the workstation is raised and lowered in daily use. You can fix it in place using a couple of zip ties or cable wraps, preferably the re-adjustable kind.
The UpLift Zipped Cable Sleeve comes in black or gray, and in 30” ($19) or 60” ($24) lengths.
The Takeaway
The UpLift Zipped Cable Sleeve is a cool idea that adds plenty of flexibility and reusability to your setup. We love that you don’t need a special tool to put cables in and that you can theoretically purchase multiple sleeves and zip them together to make an extra-large sleeve.
It’s one of the best we’ve reviewed, falling behind our top option from (iMovR’s thermal cable sleeve) only because it’s not ROHS or REACH certified, halogen-free, and provides no thermal protection. It also has a 2-year warranty, where iMovR’s cable sleeve has a 5-year warranty.
