Review Summary |
The OfficeSource U-shaped standing desk looks nice but the complete lack of details and high price are very unfortunate issues when an average user faces with this standing desk from a manufacturer without e-commerce roots. We recommend going with a seller with a more user-friendly website that provides product details, reviews, etc. The OpenSource Standing U-Desk is a bit misleading, since it is really a sit-stand L-desk sitting next to a fixed-height credenza, offering very limited configurations as compared to other, more modern designs on the market. |

This is a preview of the OpenSource U-Shaped Standing Desk. Because this is not a popular e-commerce option this product is not currently slated for a full lab review like so many other standing desks on the market but is included here because the search for a sit-stand U-desk still comes up with very few options for the buyer. If we get a lot of reader interest in this product we will slate it for a full lab review. Don’t want to miss any of our new reviews? Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news.
OfficeSource’s main focus is commercial office furniture and they have a small collection of height-adjustable desks. The OfficeSource U-Desk is actually two separate pieces of furniture. There’s an L-shaped standing desk and a separate credenza that includes three drawers. The desk also includes a wall-mounted hutch with optional glass doors. This design isn’t a true full-surface height-adjustable U-shaped standing desk like the iMovR Lander U-Desk, but it’s not the worst U-desk setup we’ve seen.
The entire unit is 72″ x 102″ x 29.5″. No specifics are given as to the depth of the standing desk or the dimensions of the drawers.
There are no size options to pick from, the desk only comes in these dimensions. The desktop comes in eight colors: Coastal Gray, Cherry, Espresso, Honey, Maple, Mahogany, Modern Walnut and White. No information is provided about the frame color, but we assume it only comes in the gray shown in the single photo.
Standing Desk Base
The standing desk portion comes on a 3-legged, electric-dual stage base. No information is provided about height range, weight capacity or transit speed, much less the OEM brand of the mechanism.
Warranty
OfficeSource provides a “limited lifetime warranty” on this desk but doesn’t specify those limitations.
The Takeaway
The OfficeSource U-shaped standing desk looks nice but the complete lack of details and high price ($5,567) exemplify the issues an average user faces when trying to buy a desk from a manufacturer without e-commerce roots. We strongly suggest going with a different seller that has a more user-friendly website with product details, reviews, etc. The OpenSource Standing U-Desk is really a sit-stand L-desk paired with a fixed-height credenza and has very limited configurations as compared to other, more modern designs on the market (e.g. the category-leading Lander U-Shaped Standing Desk that can be configured nearly 15,000 different ways.)
