MountIt! Standing Desk Converter With Monitor Mount (MI-7913) is a bargain if you’re looking to invest in a desk and not much else that typically makes up a good standing workstation. At $143.99, you get a Z lift gas spring desk converter that operates within 6.5 and 18 inch height range and a free monitor mount that supports a wide spectrum of monitor sizes and tilts ergonomic 15 degrees up and down.

If you’re looking for a small stand up desk converter, this one may be the right choice. Beware, though, because the base size isn’t the only important measurement. You have to account for the work surface and the keyboard tray. If your desk is 24” deep the unit will hang over it.

The best redeeming feature of this desk converter is that it solves the main issue of monitor height adjustment, making for great ergonomics. Since many consumers would rather not spend additional funds on a monitor arm, they have to utilize rigid supports like boxes and books. This arm has an adjustment and tilting range. It also rotates 360 degrees, making for a better standing workstation.

This is a unique product in that it is much more affordable than most post-and-base converters. The free monitor mount may not be flexible to go from side to side, but it gets the job done, adjusting the monitor height as the user switches from sitting to standing.

Users report general satisfaction with the product, although the design shows a few minor trade offs like a non-tilting keyboard tray and a small work surface. The tray is roomy and provides enough space for a keyboard and a mouse. It comes attached to a heavy L bracket, which makes for more stable typing. Additionally, the unit is equipped with a soft wrist pad to help reduce the wrist fatigue.
