Positives | The drawer could come in very handy, depending on your storage needs. It has a USB charger. Some might not like the looks, but they are at least distinctive and we're guessing many will be fans. |
Negatives | It can only hold 22 lbs. Without any height adjustability, the ergonomics are somewhat limited, like with most monitor risers. |
Bottom Line
See our full roundup of monitor risers to see why you should consider a monitor riser, how to decide between a monitor riser and ergonomic monitor arm, and what factors you need to pay attention to when making your monitor riser choice.
FlexiSpot MonitorStand
The first thing you notice about the FlexiSpot MonitorStand is its sleek lines, that we expect most will find appealing. It also comes with a drawer, meaning it has much more storage volume to its design than other monitor risers. For colors, it comes in gray or light tan.
The drawer has partitions and can fit typical office supplies like scissors, pens, etc. The riser also has a USB charger on the side for charging your devices. If you need more storage, you can add removable storage holders that go on the sides like saddlebags, and cost $16.99 for a two-pack.
One other interesting feature is the front of the drawer, which is magnetic. The riser comes with magnets so you can place photos or notes on the front of the drawer.
It has a footprint of 20.5″ x 13.6″, stands 5.3″ tall and has a 1.6″ gap underneath for your keyboard (FlexiSpot also sells this riser with an option for keyboard UV sterilization under the riser, which we’ll be reviewing in the near future). The riser can hold 22 lbs, which would be enough for small monitors and laptops but not enough for some of the newer, larger panoramic screens—so be sure to check the weight of your monitor first.
The monitor riser comes with a 5-year warranty for the workstation and a 3-year warranty for the electronics. This is quite short compared to other monitor risers from the leading manufacturers, but better than most products you’ll find exclusively on Amazon.
Assembly is very easy. You just need to attach the four feet and no tools are necessary.
The Takeaway
The FlexiSpot MonitorStand is definitely unique among monitor risers with its drawer and distinctive looks. It is strong in storage, where the drawer provides quite a bit of extra space. It is weak when it comes to monitor compatibility because of the 22-lb weight capacity. As for the looks. it comes down to personal tastes.
At $69.99 (or $86.98 with the two-pack of storage holders for the side), this is a unique monitor riser option more focused on storage than strength.
