Ideally, you spend your workday alternating between walking at your treadmill desk and standing, with the occasional sitting break as necessary. A common habit among treadmill deskers is that when they stop to stand for a while, they don’t get off the deck. This is a problem because that deck is quite unforgiving, and standing on it for hours at a time puts strain on the feet, legs, and lower back. The TreadTop anti-fatigue treadmill desk mat is meant to be compatible with any treadmill that has a siderail-to-siderail gap of at least eighteen inches wide like the Rebel Treadmill 1000, Steelcase Walkstation, and the LifeSpan TR800-DT3, TR1200-DT3 and TR5000-DT3 office treadmill bases.

The larger 20″ x 32″ TreadTop size is designed to be used specifically with the iMovR ThermoTread GT Office Treadmill—though it is also perfect for use with any treadmill that has a siderail-to-siderail gap of at least twenty inches. This set includes the treadmill desks offered by NordicTrack and ProForm, and the Exerpeutic WorkFit 2000.

The smaller, lighter TreadTop treadmill desk mat is 5/8” thick, while the larger, heavier one is 3/4” thick. There is a slight difference in comfort between the two thicknesses—we have a mild preference for the larger, 3/4″-thick mat. However, both perform their job of easing pressure on our lower body with aplomb.

Normally, we’d expect a range of color and finish options. However, since the TreadTop is meant to be used on treadmills—whose belts are universally black—we don’t consider the lack of different colors a shortcoming. In this case, one color fits all.

It won’t curl at the edges, delaminate, or lose its buoyancy over time and will provide you with superior standing support, as well as health benefits such as pain relief and reduction of spinal compression throughout the day.
